Isosteric

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006720

Describing a line on a thermodynamic diagram or a surface on a three-dimensional plot that connects points of equal specific volume. Specific volume is the reciprocal of density, representing the volume occupied by a unit mass of a substance. In atmospheric science, isosteric surfaces are related to the distribution of air density and can be used to analyze atmospheric stability.
