Specific volume

The volume occupied by a unit mass of a substance, representing the reciprocal of its density. In meteorology, it is often applied to air parcels to describe their expansion or compression. For dry air, specific volume is approximately 0.773 cubic meters per kilogram at standard temperature and pressure.
