Isobaric tube
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006685
A theoretical construct in fluid dynamics, representing a tube formed by two closely spaced isobaric surfaces and two closely spaced surfaces of constant specific volume (isosteric surfaces). This concept is used to illustrate the relationship between pressure, density, and forces in the atmosphere. The circulation within such a tube is related to the solenoid effect.
