Stream tube

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009317

An imaginary tube in a fluid flow, whose walls are composed of streamlines, meaning no fluid crosses the tube walls. This concept is used in fluid dynamics to analyze the flow of air or water, assuming steady, incompressible flow. The mass flow rate within a stream tube remains constant.
