Isothermal process
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006725
A thermodynamic process during which the temperature of a system remains constant. For an ideal gas undergoing an isothermal process, any change in pressure or volume must be accompanied by a corresponding heat exchange with the environment. In the atmosphere, this can occur when air parcels slowly adjust to ambient temperature.
