Land evaporation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006857
The process by which water in liquid or solid form on land surfaces is converted into water vapor and released into the atmosphere. This includes both evaporation from soil, open water bodies, and plant surfaces, as well as transpiration from vegetation. Land evaporation is a major component of the terrestrial water cycle, contributing a substantial portion of atmospheric moisture.
