Actual evaporation

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003283

The amount of water vapor transferred from a surface, such as land or water, to the atmosphere under existing environmental conditions. This process is limited by the available energy, moisture supply, and atmospheric demand. It is typically less than potential evaporation, which represents the maximum possible evaporation under unlimited water availability.
