Relative evaporation

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008503

The ratio of the actual rate of evaporation from a surface to the potential rate of evaporation under ideal conditions, such as from a free water surface. This measure indicates how effectively water is being transferred from a surface to the atmosphere, considering factors like soil moisture and vegetation cover. It is a key parameter in hydrological and agricultural meteorology.
