Leakage coefficient
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006905
A property of a semi-permeable layer above or below an aquifer, equal to its vertical hydraulic conductivity divided by its thickness. It gives the flow per unit area, for each unit of head difference, that leaks across the layer, and it has units of inverse time, such as per day. A larger coefficient means the aquifer exchanges water more readily with the adjoining layer.
