Markovian
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007123
Describing a process or system where the future state depends only on the current state, and not on the sequence of events that preceded it. This property is central to Markov chains and is often applied in meteorological modeling for phenomena like precipitation occurrence or wind direction changes. A Markovian process exhibits memorylessness regarding its past history beyond the immediate preceding state.
