Markov chain
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007122
A mathematical model describing a sequence of events where the probability of each future state depends only on the current state, not on the sequence of events that preceded it. This property is known as the Markov property. Such chains are used in meteorology to model atmospheric processes like precipitation occurrence or temperature changes.
