Recurrence formula
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008456
A mathematical expression that defines a sequence where each term is determined by one or more preceding terms. In atmospheric science, these formulas are used in numerical models to calculate future states of the atmosphere based on current and past conditions. They are often employed in time-stepping schemes for solving differential equations that govern atmospheric dynamics.
