Meteosat Second Generation

The second generation of geostationary meteorological satellites operated by EUMETSAT, offering enhanced capabilities compared to its predecessors. These satellites provide more frequent and detailed observations of the Earth's atmosphere, including improved imagery, atmospheric sounding, and data for climate monitoring. MSG satellites have a nominal operational lifetime of seven years.
