Microstrip antenna

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010622

A type of radio antenna consisting of a flat metallic patch on one side of a dielectric substrate, with a continuous metal layer forming a ground plane on the other side. Its low profile, light weight, and ease of fabrication make it suitable for integration into devices. These antennas are resonant structures, meaning they radiate efficiently only over a narrow frequency band determined by the patch's physical dimensions.
