Mixing length
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007337
A concept in turbulence theory representing the average distance a parcel of fluid travels before it loses its identity and mixes with its surroundings. It is used in simplified models to parameterize turbulent fluxes in terms of mean flow gradients. This length scale is analogous to the mean free path in kinetic theory.
