Transilient turbulence theory

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010818

A framework for modeling turbulent mixing in a fluid that considers nonlocal transport between discrete grid points. It uses a matrix to represent the probability of fluid from one vertical level mixing with fluid at any other level in a single timestep. This approach contrasts with traditional K-theory, which only models mixing between adjacent levels based on a local gradient.
