Moon illusion

A perceptual phenomenon where the Moon appears significantly larger when it is near the horizon compared to when it is high in the sky. This effect is purely psychological and not due to any physical change in the Moon's size or distance from the observer. The perceived size difference can be as much as 50% larger at the horizon.
