Multipath
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007450
The phenomenon where a radio signal reaches a receiver via two or more distinct paths, typically due to reflections from obstacles or atmospheric layers. These multiple paths can cause interference, leading to signal fading, distortion, or errors in positioning systems. In atmospheric remote sensing, multipath effects can complicate the interpretation of signals from satellites or ground-based transmitters.
