Multiparameter radar
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007449
A type of weather radar that transmits and receives radio waves with different polarizations, typically horizontal and vertical. By analyzing the returned signals from both polarizations, it can infer information about the size, shape, and composition of precipitation particles. Common measured parameters include differential reflectivity (ZDR), specific differential phase (KDP), and the correlation coefficient (ρhv).
