Node
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007561
A point or region in a standing wave where the amplitude of oscillation is consistently zero or minimal. In atmospheric science, this concept can apply to wave-like phenomena such as planetary waves or oscillations in atmospheric pressure. For example, in a seiche, a node is a point in a body of water where there is no vertical displacement due to the standing wave.
