Periglacial

Describing environments, processes, and landforms that are found at the margins of glaciers and ice sheets or in cold, non-glacial regions where frost action is a dominant geomorphic agent. These areas are characterized by intense freeze-thaw cycles, permafrost, and patterned ground. Periglacial conditions are widespread in high-latitude and high-altitude regions.
