Distinctive geometric patterns formed on the ground surface in periglacial environments due to frost heave and thaw processes. These patterns include circles, polygons, stripes, and nets, often composed of sorted or unsorted stones and fine sediments. They are indicative of active freeze-thaw cycles in the soil.
