Pers sunshine recorder

A type of sunshine recorder that uses a spherical glass lens to focus sunlight onto a specially prepared card, burning a trace as the sun moves across the sky. The length of the burn trace indicates the duration of bright sunshine. This instrument is a common method for measuring sunshine hours at meteorological stations.
