Plane atmospheric wave
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007961
A theoretical representation of an atmospheric disturbance where the wave fronts are flat and extend infinitely in two dimensions. This simplified model assumes that wave properties, such as amplitude and phase, are constant along these planes. It is often used to analyze the fundamental characteristics of atmospheric waves, such as gravity waves or Rossby waves, in idealized scenarios.
