Surface of constant phase
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009439
An imaginary surface in a wave field where all points have the same phase of oscillation at a given instant in time. For a plane wave, this surface is a plane perpendicular to the direction of wave propagation. In more complex wave patterns, these surfaces can be curved, representing the wavefronts of the disturbance.
