Two-dimensional model
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009857
A simplified representation of atmospheric or oceanic processes that considers variations in only two spatial dimensions, typically horizontal or vertical. These models are computationally less intensive than three-dimensional models and are useful for studying specific phenomena or for initial conceptual understanding. Examples include cross-sectional models of fronts or simplified global circulation models.
