Column model
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004528
A simplified atmospheric model that simulates vertical atmospheric processes at a single horizontal location, neglecting horizontal transport. These models are used to study processes such as radiative transfer, cloud microphysics, and boundary layer dynamics in detail. They are computationally less expensive than three-dimensional models and are often used for process studies or parameterization development.
