Statistical-dynamical model
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010785
A type of climate or weather model that combines statistical relationships derived from observational data with physical principles governing atmospheric dynamics. These models use statistical methods to represent processes that are too complex or computationally expensive to resolve dynamically. They are frequently employed for seasonal forecasting or climate projections.
