Dynamical sublayer

The region of the atmospheric boundary layer immediately adjacent to the Earth's surface where turbulent eddies are primarily responsible for momentum transfer. Within this layer, the mean wind speed increases rapidly with height due to surface friction. Its depth is typically on the order of a few meters.
