Momentum transfer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007395
The process by which momentum is exchanged between different parts of a fluid or between a fluid and a solid surface. In the atmosphere, this occurs through molecular diffusion, turbulent eddies, and pressure gradients, influencing wind profiles and atmospheric circulation. It is a key mechanism in the interaction between the atmosphere and the Earth's surface.
