Reech number
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008471
A dimensionless number used in fluid dynamics that represents the ratio of inertial forces to gravitational forces, particularly in free-surface flows. It is similar to the Froude number but is sometimes used in specific contexts related to wave propagation. This number is relevant in analyzing phenomena like hydraulic jumps and tidal bores.
