Retrograde depression

A low-pressure system that moves in a direction opposite to the prevailing steering flow in the upper atmosphere. This unusual movement can lead to prolonged periods of precipitation or other weather phenomena in a specific region. Such depressions are often associated with blocking patterns in the upper-level flow.
