Ripple wave
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008583
A small, capillary wave on the surface of water, primarily controlled by surface tension rather than gravity. These waves have very short wavelengths and are often the first type of wave to form when wind begins to blow over a calm water surface. Their propagation speed increases with decreasing wavelength.
