Rise time

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008584

The time interval over which a signal or a system's response increases from a specified lower percentage to a specified upper percentage of its final amplitude. This parameter quantifies how quickly a sensor, such as a thermometer or hygrometer, reacts to an abrupt change in an atmospheric variable. For analysis, the rise time is conventionally measured between the 10% and 90% points of the signal's peak value.
