Rocket

A missile, spacecraft, or other vehicle propelled by a rocket engine, often used in meteorology to carry instruments into the upper atmosphere for scientific research. These vehicles can deploy radiosondes or other sensors to collect data at altitudes unreachable by balloons. Sounding rockets are specifically designed for atmospheric research.
