Rossby-gravity wave

A hybrid type of atmospheric or oceanic wave that combines characteristics of both Rossby waves and gravity waves. These waves are influenced by the Coriolis effect and buoyancy forces, propagating horizontally and vertically within the fluid. They are observed in the tropical atmosphere, where they contribute to the Madden-Julian Oscillation and other large-scale weather patterns.
