Seepage velocity

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008772

The actual average velocity of groundwater flow through the pores and interstices of a porous medium. This velocity is higher than the Darcy velocity because it accounts for the reduced cross-sectional area available for flow within the porous material. It is calculated by dividing the Darcy velocity by the porosity of the medium.
