Selective Chopper Radiometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008777
An instrument designed to measure atmospheric temperature profiles by observing infrared radiation emitted by carbon dioxide. It uses a rotating chopper wheel to alternately view different atmospheric layers, allowing for selective measurement of radiation from specific altitudes. This technique is employed on satellites for remote sensing of the atmosphere.
