Specific conductance
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009090
A measure of the ability of water to conduct an electrical current, which is directly related to the concentration of dissolved ionic species. It is used to estimate the total dissolved solids (TDS) content in precipitation, cloud water, or surface water bodies. Specific conductance is temperature-dependent and is standardized to a reference temperature, usually 25°C, with results expressed in microsiemens per centimeter (µS/cm).
