Subantarctic zone

The oceanic and atmospheric region located immediately north of the Antarctic Polar Front and south of the Subtropical Front. It is characterized by cool, temperate climates and high biological productivity. This zone is a key area for air-sea interaction and the formation of intermediate water masses.
