Subpoint

The geographical location on the Earth's surface directly beneath a satellite or celestial body at a given moment. This point is defined by the intersection of a line from the center of the celestial body through the satellite's center with the Earth's surface. For geostationary satellites, the subpoint remains fixed over the equator.
