Subpolar glacier
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009348
A type of glacier characterized by ice temperatures that are at or near the pressure melting point in some parts, but below freezing in others. These glaciers exhibit both warm and cold ice conditions, leading to complex flow dynamics. They are found in regions with intermediate climates between temperate and polar zones, such as parts of Alaska and Patagonia.
