Tangential acceleration
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009498
The component of acceleration that is parallel to the instantaneous velocity vector of an object moving along a curved path. This acceleration represents the rate of change of the object's speed. In atmospheric dynamics, it describes the acceleration along the path of an air parcel, distinct from centripetal acceleration which changes direction.
