Thermoscreen

A louvered enclosure designed to house meteorological instruments, protecting them from direct solar radiation, precipitation, and thermal radiation from the ground while permitting free air circulation. Also known as a Stevenson screen, it is constructed with double-louvered walls, a ventilated floor, and a sloping roof, and is painted white to reflect sunlight. The standard height for mounting a thermoscreen is with the thermometer bulbs between 1.25 and 2.0 meters above the ground.
