Tropical easterlies

The prevailing easterly winds found in the tropical regions, extending from the equator to approximately 30 degrees latitude in both hemispheres. These winds are part of the Hadley cell circulation and are a result of the Coriolis effect acting on air moving towards the equator. They are also known as the trade winds.
