Turbosphere
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009839
The lower part of the atmosphere, from the surface up to the turbopause near 100 kilometers, in which turbulent mixing keeps the proportions of the main gases nearly constant; it is another name for the homosphere. It contains the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere and the lowest part of the thermosphere. Above it, in the heterosphere, molecular diffusion separates the gases by mass.
