White noise
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010232
A random signal having a constant power spectral density across all frequencies within a given band. In atmospheric science, it can refer to a type of background noise in meteorological instruments or a statistical model for random processes. Its amplitude distribution is typically Gaussian, and its autocorrelation function is a Dirac delta function.
