Wind velocity profile

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010271

The variation of wind speed and direction with height above the Earth's surface. This profile is significantly influenced by surface roughness, atmospheric stability, and the presence of obstacles. It is often characterized by an increase in wind speed with altitude within the atmospheric boundary layer, following a logarithmic or power law relationship.
