Alum

A group of hydrated double sulfates of aluminum, such as aluminum potassium sulfate, used as a flocculant or coagulant in drilling fluid treatment. It promotes the aggregation of fine solids, aiding in their removal from the mud system. Alum is also employed in water treatment processes to clarify water by settling suspended particles.
