Flocculant

A chemical additive introduced into drilling fluid to promote the aggregation of fine solid particles into larger masses, which then settle out of suspension more readily. This process aids in clarifying the fluid and removing undesirable solids from the drilling system. Common flocculants include polymers such as polyacrylamide or polyacrylate.
